Subsequently, strategic planning enables a company to take control of its
vision and bring expected outcomes into reality. This stresses its significance
for project managers, who are accountable for a project's success or failure
and ensure a company functions at peak efficiency. While reviewing Gateway
Health Systems' mission and vision statements for strategic planning,
remember that each team member must feel a part of, contribute to, and be
committed to the same goal. No matter how much strategic planning we do as
department heads, action will never be taken until we include our team
members. Project and strategy planning do not occur in isolation. It is a
collaborative effort. There are various steps to project planning:
commencement, planning, contracts, due diligence, project execution, and
assessment and monitoring. Strategic planning begins once the project plan is
in place and approved. "The strategic plan acts like a bulldozer, transforming
the mission statement and objectives into successes." The team then works
with the leader to translate these goals into department-level strategies and
actions. Each team member must be dedicated to that aim" (Grebner, 2017).
Five measures may be taken to guarantee that project managers will make
educated selections while building their strategic plans. They ensure they are
familiar with the organization's goals and mission. Analyze the available
resources and capabilities, Determine the outlook for the future, and
Determine the strategy used to achieve corporate objectives.
