As a leader in the HIM profession, I am holding this meeting to
discuss the change management strategies being used to help
address resistance from various stakeholders or good strategies that
can be used in change management. First, we must look at how to
achieve a new EHR system and how to use a new model of care
because this can change how we work, and potentially it could
change the facilities culture. Change can disrupt the scale and
balance of both a facility and personnel staff. This can be a fear for
many because adapting to new changes and new technology are
difficult and stressing about following the new changes correctly.
This can lead to pressure among staff members and boosts up the
tension in the office. My job as a leader is to work on a change that
can both be encouraging and a correct approach that works well with
all staff members and be sure that they are handling the change well.
The best way as a leader to encourage everyone are following these
steps I have listed. Step 1. Communication- helps show the main
goals of applying a new EHR and how it can be helpful to
stakeholders. Step 2. Educational training with patients and staff
members.
Step 3. Identify champions such as staff members who support the
changes.
Step 4. Design a project plan in order to reach milestones.
Step 5. Engage with staff about the new system choice and
transformation.
Step 6. Time management for revaluations or retraining.
Step 7. Retesting Staff members in all field of EHR.
Step 8. System may need to be updated.
Step 9. Recognitions of staff members
I if these are used as a leader and followed by all personnel, we can
make the change much easier to accept and show that with proper
support this change can be done.
