Change is and forever will be ever-present in healthcare. We as an
organization should always be on top of change and help those inside
the organization be prepared for it if I would start by Creating a
Climate for Change so that people (all stakeholders) can see that a
new course of direction is needed and that it will bring about a more
accessible and more efficient system; one of a more organized
structure that will bring a positive workflow to the organization now
and in the future. I would want to ensure that they know that the
people that are helping implement that change are those that the
staff knows and trust, that have shown they know the job and task at
hand and that they will train everyone until they fulling understand
the ins and outs of the new system.
Communication is always crucial, so that line should always be open
with stakeholders. You will have some closer to the initiative than
others, but it will always be a good rule of thumb to let those with
ideas of making the EHR system better and stronger come to you to
keep the organization more efficient.
