Identify a possible primary audience of the text: Regarding the core idea of the article, which is, about
how taking regular, intentional breaks is essential for maintaining productivity, mental health, and
overall well-being. I think a possible primary audience for this article would be adults who have kids and
a 9-5 job. Their life is full of little tantrums and the demanding expectations of work. Trying to find “me
time” or some time to decompress could be challenging.
Identify other possible audiences for the text: Other possible audiences the author was trying to reach
with their article could be college students, or the public. At this period, America was struggling with the
high demands of work and the expectations of the future generations.
Explain why both possible audiences (primary and other) are appropriate regarding the genre of the
text: The genre of this article is educational piece that borderlines on persuasive non-fiction. It can
educate these audiences and push them towards healthier habits. It can also be used as an educational
piece regardless of the intended audience.

situation of the text: When reviewing the purpose I wrote about in the last assignment, I said that the
author made an educational article that others could learn and benefit from in their everyday lives. The
two audiences I chose for the article are people who need encouragement to take intentional breaks.
Describe how the writer attracts and guides the audience: The author did a good job attracting and
guiding the audience by relating to them. She also had factual points that did a good job informing and
encouraging the audiences.
