While selecting a project, it is of paramount importance to utilize
data analytical skills. Data analytical skills and approaches that are
learned can play an instrumental role and help to effectively use
data for the purpose of solving an issue. It can offer solutions to
ambiguous and complex problems (Mukti et al., 2020).
Furthermore, it can also help to make business decisions that are
based on factual information and evidence. The data that is
available contains all the answers that are needed to solve a
problem by undertaking a project.
The approach that must be adopted to choose a project is one
which can help in defining the problem that needs to be
addressed. Furthermore, the approach must also assist in other
area of a project, such as the collection of sample data,
exploration of data, its modification and manipulation and data
analysis.
Framing the problem – At this stage, questions must be asked to
understand the issues that the client is encountering (Mukti et al.,
2020). The process must be concise so that the issue can be
responded to effectively. For framing the problem, a question
must be asked to identify factors relating to the problem.
Data gathering – A definite sample of data must be gathered and
pulled from a reliable and appropriate database. The process must
be supervised by a researcher so that he can make sure that the
identified sample is a true representation of the population.
Data cleaning – After the necessary data has been collected, it
has to be cleaned so that it will be free from any kind of
biasness. At this stage, issues relating to missing values and
outliers need to be addressed.
Data modification - Modification is vital to ensure that the data
can be used for analysis purposes.
Data manipulation – This activity involves making diverse
visualizations of data so that it can be understood in a better way.
Analysis – At this stage, models are developed and trained using
the data. If mode can be adopted it can be used for predictions.
