COM 126 5-3 Discussion New Media and Culture
Good day, classmates,
Social networking sites are a new sort of media that I believe has had a significant influence not
only on myself, but on all of us. There are several social media sites available, ranging from job
networking to dating sites, chatting with friends, connecting with classmates, and chat rooms.
AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) was the first type of social media that I used when I was younger.
Establishing a handle that reflected who I was at the time, as well as an away statement that had
to be profound and significant to my teenage mentality. When social networking platforms first
became popular, MySpace was the place to be. You were able to represent yourself or your
adolescent self through your profile layout, which you spent hours searching for, and then choose
the music that best expressed you at the time to play every time someone visited your profile.
Selecting your Top 8 buddies would result in riffs with friends who weren't in the Top 8 or were
towards the finish. All of the petty drama that comes with adolescent attitudes and social media
was only the start.
Facebook is now an everyday mainstay in my life at the moment since it is where I connect with
most of my friends and family who have departed and can still keep up with their lifestyles. This
is also how I do the majority of my work. I try to detach as much as practicable, but it's difficult
because that's how I communicate with my consumers. I wouldn't be able to manage my business
at the same level if I didn't have digital platforms. In addition to losing contact with my friends
and family.
