2-3 Module Two Assignment
Identification
Identify three
or more
nonverbal
communicatio
n cues.
Message
Given the
situation,
identify the
message you
think is being
conveyed.
Interpretation
Explain why you think this is the
message being communicated from the
nonverbal communication cues you
identified. What other factors in the
situation lead you to believe that this is
the message being communicated?
Could nonverbal communication mean
something else? Why or why not?
Bouncing her
leg
It means she
was most
definitely
probably
nervous or
worried
I think she was nervous because they
were talking about things they weren’t
supposed to, and might have been
passing something between them. She
didn’t want to get caught, and her
body language showed it, even if she
didn’t mean to. The guard also thought
they were exchanging something,
which adds to the idea that she was
anxious.
Head nodding The message in
this non-verbal
communication
was to approve
the secret
conversation
they had
discussed.
Looks like the woman’s talking super-
fast and not letting the inmate say
much. She’s probably sharing
something important and hush-hush.
When she handed over the contraband,
he just nodded like, “Got it.”
Slapping the
glass
It shows they
were sharing a
secret message
just between
them.
They probably made up a way to talk
that only they understand. It could also
stop their talks from being recorded. I
think this because after tapping on the
glass, she took something out of her
mouth and gave something to him. The
tapping meant something.
