For any presentation, I think the first thing the presenter needs to do
is understand the need for the education that they are presenting.
For my community, there is a great deal of education needed for
teenage pregnancy. So the need for education is there. The second
thing that needs to be looked at is how effective are the resources
that we currently have? In my county, there are resources available
but I'm not sure that teens know what resources are available or
where to get them. So, in this case, educating them on what is
available and where to get those resources would be beneficial. The
next thing to look at is what exactly would the educator be educating
- what is important to teach to teens about pregnancy. I think
teaching them about relationships, STD's and pregnancy prevention
would be important. b The presenter also needs to consider who their
target audience is and how to effectively reach that group of people. b
Teenage boys and girls are the target audience for my presentation
so a presentation that is full of colorful graphics with easy to read
slides that catches the target audiences attention will be key to the
educational presentation.
