Changing a behavior is not an easy task no matter what you're
trying to accomplish. Giving it your all being devoted to the
process I feel is needed to get you in the mindset of wanting to
change that behavior. When I was going through changing my
behavior of dieting in order to be healthier, I learned several
things. I found it to be helpful to set small goals working to reach
a bigger and final goal. When reaching a small goal then reward
yourself. Acknowledge that you are working hard and you're
doing great. You need to do things that keep you motivated while
changing a behavior is a learning experience. Its ok to fail at ties
just stay persistent and do not give up.
A time I attempted to change by behavior is when I wanted to
get more in shape through exercising and eating better.
Making sure to have a schedule and an alert to notify me when
to go was helpful as it made things easier instead of saying “I’ll
go tomorrow” the alert would go off and I would head to the
gym. One of the biggest thigs that helped was having friends
who also wanted to change a behavior, my friend and I both
talked about getting more into shape and having a friend who
would go with me to the gym made it more fun. We would both
encourage each other and help out while exercising, it made
exercising more fun instead of feeling like a chore.
