Module Thirteen-Discussion
Southern New Hampshire University
The right person for the right job. My personal passion would be something I have seen too
often. While I have a soft spot in my Heart for hiring Veterans (and yes, A veteran would have a
place within a company if it were up to me), there are two other classes in that community that
also Have a big place in the CSR area. Why is this a CSR area? As the companies have shouted
for years about hiring vets, hiring vets hiring vets, they have turned away a large portion of them.
Because of PTSD/TBI and the trauma that many come home with. Many vets struggle with
alcholoism, mental health issues or even legal issues due to PTSD and mental health issues that
are untreated or poorly treated by the VA. The issue is lack of access to healthcare.
As a company and society, how do we repay them and get them access? Well as a company we
have great benifits. Im not saying put them in executive level positions. But employ them. Get
them in the door. Everyone deserves a second chance. These men and women sacrificed alot for
their countires and we as a company have a Corporate Social Resposabilty to stand up to our
word of hiring veterans and not being half to the word.
The second role is the Spouses of Service Members. They face some of the hardest times finding
jobs. Because of the ever changing lives and moving they often have gaps in employment, quick
moves and often have to take time off to deal with family issues. Knowing the life of a military
spouse is not the same of a normal family is one that is inherent of a military member. As a
company we should give priority to the spouses.
Nike's DEI and CSR strategies have been designed to ensure that the company is doing its best to
contribute to the development of sustainable communities. As a unit, we are dedicated to making
a difference in people's lives worldwide. Through an intern program, the company's managers
can get new ideas on how to improve the processes and products of the organization. The
program's goal is to create memos that will help the Upper Management develop new systems
that will support the needs of the consumers. The company's customer service agents will
support the new system by training and informing the customers as part of the project.
Incentives can motivate people, and implementing a new system that rewards customer service
agents will help alleviate some of their stress. This will also allow them to focus on more critical
projects and new releases. As part of their new system, the company will be able to adjust its
employees' wages. They can also expect to see a rise in the number of new roles available due to
the pandemic. This new system will help make the job easier for customers and the employees.
I like the intern idea. It can be valuable to get a fresh set of eyes to get a different perspective.
While this can be beneficial, a team entirely made up of interns may encounter challenges. These
interns may lack the experience needed to provide actionable feedback concerning how to
improve company processes or products. I think it could be helpful to create a team of people
with varying experience levels to give you the largest range of ideas and perspectives.
Another recommendation I have would be to leverage your marketing department or hire a
market research company alongside your project team. You said that your program’s goal is to
develop systems to support customer needs. Those groups can provide specialized and
substantial information and feedback – more than I think you could get from having customer
service agents speak to customers.
