Module Nine-Discussion
Southern New Hampshire University
I was able to complete all the segments of the business model canvas (BCM). I’m personally
pretty familiar with the company because of what I did for work, and I spent the last few weeks
doing a lot of research for the assignments we had so far. Being said, I found that the easiest
segments to complete were the cost structure, revenue streams, and customer segments.
I completed my value propositions, but I do want to refine that section. I feel like this section
needs to be refined and right now I have a long list of value propositions. I only have 2 key
activities right now (marketing and system design), so I may try to see if I can add more to it so
that it seems more complete. I feel like I might be missing some activities.
Before working on the business model canvas, I had not considered all the key resources and
cost structures that I needed to plan for. I was not thinking about existing resources that the
business needed to utilize like computers, phones, internet, etc. I did add them later, after reading
all the week’s resources but I originally only had listed things like the company’s software,
people (employees), and cloud computing. For the cost structures, I did not originally think about
the costs of servicing, troubleshooting, and updating the product and system for the life of the
product.
After reading this week’s resources and because of my experience with Amazon this allowed me
to approach this task with a certain level of familiarity. I dedicated considerable time to research
in preparation for our assignments. Among the segments, I found the cost structure, revenue
streams, and customer segments to be the most intuitive in the context of Amazon.
I've managed to form Amazon's value propositions; I recognize the need for improvement in this
section. I have compiled a complete list, but I believe there is potential for enhancement. I feel
confident about the chosen customer segments and revenue streams, given Amazon's extensive
market presence.
This exercise has provided me with invaluable insights into Amazon's operations. Prior to
delving into the BMC, I hadn't fully grasped the critical aspects of key resources, cost structures,
and key activities specific to Amazon's operations. It was helpful to recognize the significance of
leveraging Amazon's existing resources and infrastructure. I initially overlooked the costs
associated with servicing, troubleshooting
