My project team would consist of one member that leads the group and
communicates directly with the board of directors. Because National
Beverage Corporation (NBC) has 12 factories, I would have 6 additional
members on my project team for a total of 7 members. The 6 additional
members would each be responsible for holding bi-weekly meetings
with the management teams at 2 of the production facilities. This way,
each team member can alternate meetings between factory 1 and
factory 2 each week. At the end of the month, each of the 6 project
team members will have a meeting to discuss their findings which will
be relayed to the board by the project team leader.
• What steps are you going to take to promote CSR initiatives? For
example: what community programs, nonprofits, or environmental
projects will the new product or service support?
NBC already supports several community programs including St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital, City of Hope National Medical Center,
Cleveland Clinic, and MD Anderson (National Beverage Company,
2022). Regarding the new product, NBC can offer a program similar to
SodaStream's Co2 bottle exchange process (SodaStream, 2020). NBC
could package Flavor Wave in an a more sturdy aluminum bottle with a
reusable lid. Once the bottle is empty, customers could exchange the
empty bottle for a full one at participating retailers and recieve a
discount on the new full bottle. The used bottles would then be
returned to NBC, cleaned, inspected, and refilled with Flavor Wave
product.
• How do you plan to attract, develop, engage, and reward your project
team?
I would begin by holding a company wide conference call which
outlined the new project and its intended goals. I would also make it
known that the company is in need of a team to undertake this new
project and that we would begin accepting applications from
employees. I would mention that their would be new challenges and
better opportunities and rewards that come along with those
challenges (Strategic Coach, n.d.). I would be sure to consider the needs
of the project to be sure that I choose the correct people from the
correct departments (Yarbrough, 2021). Once the team is created, I
would be sure to clearly define the expectations and set up a regular
communication schedule. Teams that do not communicate regularly
may begin to think independently of the project's ultimate goal
(Yarbrough, 2021). I would be sure to reward each of the team's
successes, even if its something as simple as showing gratitude toward
their efforts.
