I would advise against taking Fred’s Miracle Cough Syrup public at this point.
Some of the legal challenges that would impact them going public is past issues of Janes
check forgery and the current complaint Tammy has made with sexual harassment.
Although the check issues have been resolved mostly and a skilled accountant has been
hired these are still alarming to someone looking to invest in a company.
I would recommend that they do a thorough investigation of Tammy’s complaints and
bring in an outside HR resource to help support this issue and their business going
forward. I think they would need to prove that Ted was hired based on his skills and no
other reasons. I believe they have a lot of work to do with their personnel issues and
building a better company brand internally and externally before taking the company
public.
