The most current legal issue going on with Fred's Miracle Cough Syrup is the
lawsuit that Tammy is filing against them. Tammy is filing for sex
discrimination because she applied for Janes old job and Tim was the one
who received it. There is nothing in the case study that says Tammy was
qualified the be a bookkeeper, but it did state that Tim was a experienced
accountant. Fred and Sally will have to prove to the court that they hired Tim
over Tammy due to Tim having experience and Tammy having either less or
no experience. The other legal issue that might effect the company going
public is the embezzlement that happened with Jane. Investors are going to
want to know that the proper internal controls were put into place so that a
issue like that doesn't happen again. I would not recommend Fred and Sally
making the company public at the moment. I think they should wait until the
lawsuit is over and until internal controls are added.&
