I think that Fred's company shouldn't make a move to go public until
this case with Tammy is settled. Maybe hire an HR firm to work with
Tammy and Fred to come to a conclusion rather quickly, prove that
there wasn't any discrimination because Ted was hired for his
experience. Also while this is happening reinforce stronger
relationships among everyone involved in the company, like
contracts with other companies because when entering an IPO
sometimes that can change. I'd also add to look through loan
agreements, some might need the lender's approval. I believe these
few steps will ensure a stronger footing for Fred's company because
no matter what it will be visible to more scrutiny.
