The revenue cycle is a repeated set of business activities and related information
processing operations associated with providing goods and services to customers in return
for cash as payment for those sales (Kuijken-88, 2022). Management’s objective is to
ensure that the right product is provided in the right place, at the right time and for the
right price. The article explains how an organization’s information system supports each
of the revenue cycle activities, sales order entry, shipping, billing, and cash collections.
a The article goes on to discuss the ERP system that most organizations use, and the
revenue cycle threats that come along with using this system. The importance of this
article is to bring awareness to the various threats that an organization may face and
methods of how to identify and resolve issues that may arise. a
