Running Head: INTERNAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY 1
Deliverable 4 - Creating an Internal Assessment Survey
Bushra Ali
Rasmussen College
MAN3504 Operation Management
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY 2
To prepare a request for a proposal for the organization, five essential metrics will be
considered. The primary significant features of the proposal include the scope of work,
productivity, cost, quality of work and satisfaction of customers, and the gross margin. These
metrics will act as a guide towards the successful implementation of the project. The timeline is
also essential as it will communicate the period it will take the organization to complete its task.
The five metrics will help identify the project's objective and complexity.
The scope of work will communicate the activities that the organization is expected to
indulge in to accomplish the project. An action list will be established to help critical individuals
understand the project activities that make up the scope of work. For instance, the organization
will be expected to send representatives to the different steel suppliers. The company has to
interact with people from countries such as Mexico, India, Russia, and China, conducting its
operations using steel. Also, the organization will have to establish the impact of utilizing the
steel in the different global locations and whether it contributes to increased productivity.
The second essential feature in the proposal is the productivity measure. The organization
will have to ensure that it measures how resources are utilized in distinct locations. Data should
be collected to analyze whether resources are appropriately used in the different nations.
Cost is another essential metric that should be included in the request for proposal. The
organization should determine how it manages the costs utilized in the implementation process.
It should evaluate how costs of resources such as steel are handled as they are critical to the
success of any project. Data collected on cost allows the organization to establish whether
resources are utilized as expected and within the budget.
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY 3
Data should be collected concerning how the use of steel in distinct countries enhances
the quality of work by the organization and satisfies its customers. Also, the quality of work and
satisfaction should be measured to determine whether using steel in operations benefits the
organization. The last essential item in the proposal is the gross margin. The organization should
have adequate data to evaluate the gross margin earned from the use of steel in operations done
in distinct nations.
The time taken to complete the project should be included in the request for proposal.
The timelines proposed are three months, meaning that the scope of work that comprises specific
activities should be complete within three months. The time assists the organization in planning
for activities such as meetings that will not take more than three months to be done.
Some of the questions that should be included in the RFP include.
1. What is the initial cost of the project?
2. What is the estimated cost of the project?
3. What is the cost of materials utilized in the implementation project?
4. What is the cost of purchasing steel from suppliers in the distinct nations?
5. What is the volume of the materials utilized in the project?
6. What is the volume of steel obtained from suppliers in the different nations?
7. What is the central location of implementing the project?
8. Where will the meetings between the organization's representatives and suppliers be
located?
9. What safety measures will be incorporated in the project to enhance the security of the
project time?
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT SURVEY 4
10. What are the safety policies to ensure that all key individuals adhere to the rules and
enhance security during project implementation?
