Since 1976, Apple has been a leader in the technology industry. It is a major
manufacturer of computer software and electronic devices. It is also one of the world's largest
phone companies. By revenue, it is regarded as one of the most prominent IT organizations in the
world. In October 2018, Apple had over 500 retail stores worldwide. It also has about 120,000
employees working in its various operations. The company's mission statement emphasizes that
it strives to provide its customers with the best possible experience. It refers to the innovation of
its products and services and the best possible user experience.
The vision statement of Apple shows how the company is committed to creating high-quality
products for its customers. The company believes it is at the forefront of the technology industry
and is still working to make great products. The vision statement also emphasizes how the
company is built with the community in mind. It states that half of its workforce comprises
people from underrepresented groups. It discusses how Apple is designed with everyone in mind,
how the community is the core of its culture, and how half its workforce comprises
underrepresented communities.
Role of Identity: Challenges and Opportunities
Challenges:
Increasing Competition: Samsung continues to lead, despite Apple's success, while
companies like Dell and Google pose a severe threat.
Aftereffects of Covid: Because Apple depends on China for product manufacture and
roughly 18% of its income comes from China, the epidemic has seriously damaged its business
and may do so in the future.
2
Market penetration: Currently, Android software holds a 72.23% market share, compared
to Apple's 24.55%. (Gupa, 2022). Several smartphone manufacturers, including Samsung,
Lenovo, and HTC, use Android software.
Counterfeits: Apple has been at risk from countries using their brand image illegally to
sell products. Customers have the misconception that these are genuine Apple products of subpar
quality, frequently resulting in negative press and reviews.
Opportunities:
Wearable Smart Technology: Apple can become more important than just their Air pods
and Apple Watches. According to (Gupa, 2002), cutting-edge wearable technology is a fad that
will soon take over the world.
Consistent growth in customers: Apple is the world's second-largest phone manufacturer;
They always have the option of utilizing the power of the internet to expand their clientele and
forge new alliances.
Qualified Professionals: The Apple team is a highly developed professional with years of
customer product branding experience. If they expand their team, they can continuously create
new opportunities.
Going Greening: Apple still needs to utilize green technology. They can develop long-
lasting technology for the launch of new products.
Importance of Diverse Segments Within Apple’s Workforce
Diversity fosters innovation, which is essential for the technology sector. Open-minded
ideas are made possible by employing people with diverse educations, experiences, and
backgrounds. The company's products and services will go in many different directions with a
diverse workforce. Apple can attract a wide range of resources by incorporating individuals from

various backgrounds, genders, cultures, and societies (Young, 2016). Production is also increased
by diversity; It will be completed more quickly when people with different backgrounds and
qualifications work toward the same goal. Diversity brings new ideas and alternative solutions to
problems to keep the workplace's momentum moving in a productive direction. Increasing
relationships with customers is another diverse critical segment. They can better connect with
their customers because of their diverse workforce. Customers' increasing ethnic, racial, and
gender diversity can be better served by hiring workers of all backgrounds.
Different Cultural Backgrounds Impact Success
Reputation: Apple's reputation may be impacted by its diverse cultural background. A
diverse workforce makes connecting with the business more accessible, opening doors to new
markets, customers, and business partners.
Increased Employee Satisfaction: Diversity and inclusion result in engagement;
Employees are more engaged when they feel included (Zojceska, 2018).
Enhanced Hiring Performance: Apple will appear to be a more desirable workplace and
benefit from the brand boost provided by diverse cultural backgrounds.
Increased Innovation: Employees with diverse backgrounds provide access to diverse
worldviews and perspectives. Innovation occurs when these perspectives are combined.
Long-Term Impact of Creating More Diversity
There will be numerous effects on Apple because of increased diversity. They will be able
to continue developing cutting-edge smartphones, watches, and other products. With a broader
range of backgrounds and perspectives, they will continue to improve electronic ideas. In a short
time, Apple has made significant progress and continues to rise to the top. They are showing

continue to advance if Apple continues its current course.
