Deliverable 2 - Kingston-Bryce Business Case
Project Purpose
Kingston-Bryce Limited has been at the top of the woodworking field for nearly two decades. As
time moves forward, it is becoming more competitive to be successful and come out on top. In order for
KBL to stay in the top 5 woodworking companies in Florida, it will require expansion. KBL will be
acquiring its competitor, Woodworks Galore. This acquisition will allow KBL to expand its operations and
triple its workforce. This project has a timeframe of 18 months and a budget of 5 million dollars. For this
acquisition to take place, there are a few steps that are necessary for completion. The first thing that
needs to be established is a budget for this project, so the money is not overspent and planned out
accordingly.
Pros and Cons
Although many pros come along with an acquisition, there are also cons. The important thing is
to be aware of both and be able to see how they outweigh each other. Some of the pros of this
acquisition are that KBL will be able to expand its operations and triple its workforce. This also helps with
eliminating Woodworks Galore as competition. As a result of this KBL will have the opportunity to have
higher profits and possibly gain new clients. One of the biggest cons of this acquisition is money. It is
taking a lot of money for the acquisition in general, but it is also expensive to maintain a larger business.
There is also a higher risk in many aspects of managing a larger business. (Pinto, 2018)

As stated before, the project budget is set at 5 million dollars, and the funding schedule is as

Risks and Opportunities
Just like with there are pros and cons of this acquisition, there are also risks and opportunities
that come along. Some of the risks that may be encountered are delays with shipping, obtaining permits
in a timely manner, weather restrictions, availability, and cost of materials. Although these are some very
heavy risks, there are also some magnificent opportunities. Some of these opportunities include the
expansion of the business, tripling the workforce, higher profits, and new clients. (Pinto, 2018)
