The nearest High School in my city is James Madison in Claremont county in the city of San
Diego, CA. it serves 1023 students 9-12. The student:teacher ratio is 21:1 one of the lowest
levels in the State of California. Minority enrollment is 83% (Hispanic) which is higher than the
California state average of 77%. Graduation rate is 93% and is on the top 30% in CA. Madison
High School places among the top 20% of public schools in CA for most diverse school, lowest
teacher;student ratio.

As it regards to Contacting factors: Being Seen, Being Known, and Being Understood I believe
that Being seen factor will not be hard to accomplished as some of my Church members
actually already volunteer in the library, and some of the sport teams at school already. I feel
that is a sure way to be able to go into the school population and help in every way possible.
As it regards to Being known, the fact that both my kids graduated from Madison and both of
them were known to support and help the school in different areas will also be an opportunity
to take advantage of by working with the teachers that both my children worked with in the
recent past. Another advantage is the fact the in my youth group there are a lot of kids that go
to Madison HS and they can be a way by which I may be able to know new youth and open new
possibilities of service to the youth in our school campus.
The one factor I may have difficulty with is the Being Understood. Crossing that bridge into
what truly matters at the end of the day, Spirituality. From past experiences a lot of the times
where the problem begins is with the actual teachers who would try to prevent the message of
the gospel to be shared. The youth truly wants to know Christ! The School system is the one
who tries to stop the good news from being shared!
