Kingdom of God v. Kingdom of World

Jesus’s message: Repent for the kingdom has come near
Jesus -I have brought the kingdom and you have access to it through me
Talked more about the kingdom of heaven than he did about anything
What is the kingdom of heaven and why is it so important?
Matthew 13 kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden, a man found it, sold
everything, came back to buy the treasure
If you knew the value of the kingdom of heaven, you’d be willing to give up everything
for it
Kingdom of God: God is in authority, on the throne
- Your thoughts, values, worldviews, patterns (all of these submit to the authority of
God)
Kingdom of God is the way to life
Greatest, you must be least, find your life, you need to lose your life.
Humble yourself
Going the extra mile for your enemy, first mile is obligation, second mile is service
Kingdom of World: Culture of our world, Satan is on the throne
- Beliefs, patters, thoughts, worldviews (Submit themselves to the culture of the world)
- Inundated by the kingdom of the world because we live in it
Kingdom is the way to death, all about finding yourself, climbing the ladder, being the
greatest, status
All born into the kingdom of the world because of sin and born into sin (Romans 8:23)
Jesus was born from a virgin conceived by the Holy Spirit
Adam was not born into sin but fell short
Jesus was tempted but did not fall
Jesus voluntarily gives up his life, does not die the death he deserves, he deserves life,
died the death I deserve
John 18:36
Kingdom of God is different from Kingdom of World (odds with one another)
They are opposite of one another (as a Christian, you do not live worldly, you live for the
kingdom of God)
