Ministry Levels
In ch. 5 of The Student Work Text we read and learned about the 4 different levels of
student ministry, the one I have found myself naturally drawn to and relate the most with is
Entry. I relate to this level because I have always done my best to be accepting and kind
towards everyone and love to see new people being saved. This level is the opening of the
relationship with those who are in need of hearing the word of God , those who are unsaved,
or those who may have drifted apart from God. We were all approached by someone at
some point in our lives who reached out to us with acceptance and love and helped us on
our journey to learning about and knowing Christ and accepting the gift of salvation. Like
Christ has taught us Scripture, we should follow his example and begin relationships with
copious amounts love, understanding, acceptance, and open arms. This is what He has
commanded of us, numerous times in Scripture. I was brought up to always treat others in a
way I would want to be treated regardless of their differences. Unfortunately too many
people do not treat people with kindness and acceptance and it has caused numerous of
awful consequences in society. Our culture is full of so much hate and negativity. We need to
learn that it effect the way we act, treat others, or pick up these bad behaviors. We should
continue to follow what Jesus commanded us in Scripture and to love one another. This is the
most important part of student ministry as a whole, to teach ourselves and others different
ways to show love to one another on first impact or meeting and to continue the same love
throughout the relationship. If we are successful in doing this, then sharing God's word will
be even more of an impact on the non-believer, the ones that the go on to share the
message with, and even us.
