Introduction
I went to Bedrock Community Churches student ministry. I am a regular at Bedrock but
decided to check out their student ministry. Their student ministry is a place that is well
developed and a comfortable place to be. I enjoyed observing this ministry and am excited to go
in-depth with the details in this paper.
Assessment
This student ministry in particular was a decent size of about fifty to seventy students. It was
a youth group model and showed significant time for small groups, fun, worship, and mentoring.
If I were a first-time student coming into this ministry, I would feel extremely welcome by both
adults and students. These students were hungry to hear about the word and to keep developing
their faith by being involved. When students are involved and visibly wanting to be a part of
something like student ministry, it becomes a fun and welcoming environment. Buck, is the
student pastor there and does a wonderful job of including all who walk through the doors and
also making sure the students are involved in their ministry. Their structure was healthy and
service flowed nicely. The students were engaged when it came time to do more serious or even
fun things. They showed excitement when it was time to play games and were worshipping in a
genuine heartfelt manner.
Conclusion
My final conclusive thoughts were that I appreciated that there was such adult involvement
when it came to the ministry. Adults were all around ready to minister to students and to just be
present when they needed it most. Having a string leading adult in your life at that age other than
parents is important and also is a blessing. I know personally I grew the most in student ministry
when I and adults willing to pour into me and love on me no matter what was going on in my
life. I appreciate this ministry for having those same types of leaders in their students’
lives because I don’t know where I would be in life without adults like that in my life.
