YOUT 201_D03: Joshua Caldwell
As a current ministry leader in Student Ministry, I believe the family-friendly model fits
the needs of most parents, grandparents, or even students themselves. A trend that I see a lot of
churches going to, is this model of church where everyone feels welcome and open to all people.
I am a person who enjoys having the details, yet I do not like giving them. Being a part of a
student ministry that would keep me filled in regularly would help me stay up to date with what
is going on in that ministry. Being in a current family-friendly model, I can appreciate the needs
parents have for wanting to stay connected, communicate with, and have full knowledge about
what their student is doing, and what they are learning. I have held several parenting conferences
in the past at churches where I have served, and it always brings the families together where they
can meet, connect with small group leaders, and understand that their opinion matters.
