Discussion Thread: Misperception replies
Mckayla,
I could not agree with your post more! I know several teens who are gifted and fully capable at
leading. When I was a teenager, I helped lead second grade Sunday school. This was when God
started laying the foundation for my calling to childrens ministry. Also as a teenager, I met a girl
in the childrens ministry that was helping to lead her friends at school to Christ.
I know several EGR kids and teens and at times they can be a challenge for several reasons. Just
because someone presents challenges doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be shown love and grace.
They still need be shown God’s love even if they are behaving in an unloving way.
Jonathan,
I love that you were able to connect with this kid who seemed difficult and God used your
background and testimony to do that. There are things from my testimony that I am not proud of
but God has used those times to share and speak life to others.
That kid may be trouble but he needs Jesus just the same as the rest of us. It is good that you
loved on this kid and allowed God to work through you by sharing your story. Sometimes people
who need the most love ask for it in the most unloving ways.
