Abstract
Trauma refers to the emotional response that an individual possesses to an ultimately
detrimental adverse event. Many children experience trauma, from mild to severe. The research
will evaluate trauma as one of the mental problems people worldwide struggle with and its
development in children and adults. The research will further determine the causes while
highlighting the possible effects of short-term and long-term people suffering from traumatic
experiences. Apart from the psychotherapy treatment methods that are already in place, the
study will explain biblical views relating to trauma to heal during the healing process. Finally,
the paper will focus on child sexual abuse associated with complex trauma and how traumatic it
is for children to heal while recommending treatment using cognitive behavioural therapy.
Administering the therapy at an early age for children and adolescents has proved to be a success
