1 Samuel 23: 14-18
14.And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the
wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his
hand.
15.And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of
Ziph in a wood.
16.And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his
hand in God.
17.And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and
thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father
knoweth. (Holy Bible, KJVB)
18.And they two made a covenant before the.L : and David abode in the wood, and ORD
Jonathan went to his house.
I want to use for a subject when God is on my side. I want to tell you the only reason I made it
this far is because God was on my side. Now here we are in 1Samuel 23: 14-18 Spotlight shines
on an individual whose life has been marked by mistakes and mishaps it's amazing because he
has a life that's been plagued with problems parrels and predicaments it's even amazing because
whenever we see this individual he's running and hiding in caves from a king I love it pastor
Gee because the Bible gives this particular person a delightful distinction the bible calls him a
man after God's own heart. Now David is the subject of our sermon today. David is experiencing
pains and problems and predicaments not because he did not follow the ways of God not because
he did not obey the will of God not because he did not walk with the word of God but David is
