Short Reflection Paper #1
Unfortunately, growing up, I did not study theology. I had no desire to learn more about
such things as “Natural revelation” or “Predestination”, or any of the big doctrine topics. But as
time went on, I began to ask more questions. I have not studied theology formally, but I want to,
so that my relationship with Christ grows deeper and more intimate. The only reason I have not
yet is simply because I wasn’t sure where to start. I knew the Bible like the back of my hand, but
I wasn’t exactly sure how to pull as much “meat” out of it as possible.
I believe that as I study theology more throughout this course, the way I look at creation
and answer philosophical questions, asked both by myself and other people, will change
immensely. Acquiring an in-depth knowledge of God’s Word will not only help me in my
spiritual life, but I believe it will also help me in my professional life as I encounter lost and
broken souls who need an encounter with Jesus Christ. I’m glad to be studying such a topic and
know that its effect will ultimately leave a footprint on my spiritual walk with the Most High.
