BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW ESSAY 2
Introduction
A biblical worldview is a person’s philosophy of life. It is the foundation that
helps individual’s in their decision making and the way they communicate with the world
from a biblical standpoint. The Bible is more than a handbook used to guide us on this
journey called life. It is more than just a book filled with a compilation of stories, poems,
songs, letters, history, and literature to keep a person entertained. However, the Bible is
the inspired word of God for the people of God. “All scripture is given by inspiration of
God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16, KJV). “It is a covenant book, given to God’s covenant
people so they might know him fully” (Moberly, 2011). The Bible supports God the
Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit yet it highlights that there is only one God.

Biblical Narrative
According to the assigned presentation, Understanding Biblical Narrative, the
Bible was created by 40 different authors in diverse geographical areas, within different
generations and yet keeps it consistency” (Aaron Gaston, 2018). “From Genesis to
Revelations, God’s word is coherent and unified because of its reflection of God” (Aaron
Gaston, 2018). The biblical narrative creation, fall, redemption, and restoration chronicles
the nature of God. The Bible commences with the creation of the world and man in his
own image, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1, KJV);
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him” (Genesis
1:27a, KJV). It then speaks of the fall of man when Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s
single command mentioned in Genesis 2:16-17, “And the LORD God commanded the

man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: but of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof
thou shalt surely die” (KJV). Despite God’s command Eve was deceived by Satan, “And
when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes,
and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and
gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat” (Genesis 3:6, KJV). Adam and Eve
was a representation of all mankind and because of their sin man was separated from
God. “There was a broken relationship between God and His creation, due not to God's
work, but due to mankind's decision to willfully disobey God” (Etzel & Gutierrez, 2014,
p. 94). Thank God for Jesus, because of him man have been redeemed. God saw what
sin was doing in the world he had to make a way for man’s redemption. Therefore, he
had to have somebody that was worthy of enough to come down and redeem man. He
loved us so much that sent his only son to die, one that knew no sin yet died for sins of
mankind. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16,
KJV). Although Jesus died on the cross at Calvary the Bible says on the third day Jesus
rose again. Therefore, the story does not end with his redemption and resurrection, but
one glorious day restoration will finally come. God has promised to restore the whole
world, and the Bible gives us a glimpse of what is to come.

Example One (Love)
As Believers of God, we know God have a love for us that comes without
reservation. The Bible says, “God is love” (1 John 4:8b, KJV). Throughout the Bible we

can find scriptures about God’s love for humanity. We must comprehend the
characteristics of God by examining the biblical story that reveals who God is through
everything he does. The Biblical narrative helps us to understand our purpose and the
nature of God applied from the beginning of creation, to the fall of man, through his
redemption, and his restoration. The desires and plans for all humanity are apparent all
through the Bible and this allows us to see the unified nature of God’s word and our unity
with God. Love is found Genesis to Revelation and that makes up the story of the
creation, fall of man, redemption and restoration. Having a basic knowledge and
understanding of these four movements should help us to better understand each other
and the activities that are going on in the world today. The world was created through
love and after the creation and the fall of man, it was God’s love that caused him to seek a
plan to redeem all mankind. The occurrences that are taking place in the world today
should not catch us by surprise, however it should be expected. If God had not sent his
son to redeem man, things would be a lot worse but when he returns evil and sin will not
have the final say.

Example Two (Grace)
The books of the Bible are different, yet they are all connected. From Genesis to
Revelation they tell a story that leads to the major theme and that is the creation, the fall
of man, redemption and restoration. The same as the books speaks of the biblical
narrative, they all speak of God’s grace, his favor and love to all of us who don’t deserve
it. God’s grace is the basis on which the Gospel message of Jesus Christ was founded.
Without God’s grace salvation would be impossible. God knew when he created man
BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW ESSAY 5
that we would need a way of escape from sin. Everything that happened from the
beginning of creation to redemption was part of God’s plan to redeem man. Jesus said in
John 10:18, “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it
down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my
Father” (KJV). The Bible speaks of many people who have sinned, yet God forgave
them. We are who we are by the grace of God. “We are His workmanship, created in
Christ Jesus unto good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in
them” (Ephesians 2:10, KJV). It is by God’s grace that we are saved. “By grace you have
been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works,
lest anyone should boast” (Ephesians 2:8=9, KJV). God’s grace has kept from the
beginning of time and it will continue to lead us from time to eternity.

Conclusion
As Christians we must apply the Bible to every area of our lives. God gave us his
word as a guide to live by. Those that were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the word
of God, knew that we would encounter many trials and temptations. Therefore, God
made it possible for us to always return back to him. No one is exempt from sin because
the Bible says, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not
in us” (1 John 1:8, KJV). The creation, the fall of man, redemption, and restoration is the
primary theme of every believer’s life. Therefore, it should help us to always rely on
God’s love and his grace as we continue to walk this path from time to eternity. God has
placed so much at our disposal until it leaves us without an excuse.
