My perspective of theology has definitely changed through the duration of this course. At the
beginning of this course, theology was just another unknown subject to me. All I knew was the
vague meaning of it. Since theology simply means the study of God, I just thought important
people of the Church studied it, like preachers and pastors. I guess I never thought of the fact that
we are all theologians. We all study the word of God as we read though the Bible. As we read
through and analyze God’s word, we show our dedication to Him. Not only that but we are also
able to increase our knowledge and faith in Him. To be able to glorify His name and to be able to
show others how great He is, we need to study and live our lives for Him. In addition to all that,
as we study the Bible, our ability to defend the Bible when confronted about it is enhanced. This
is because we are now able to understand what it means and the reason we believe what we
believe. I now realize how much it matters to know these things and how important it is in my
life.
Though this course, I have been able to put the principals I have learned into practice by
being able to have a fuller understanding of what it really means to study the Bible and learn
from God’s word. This has led me to use more effective studying habits when reading the Bible.
It has also taught me ways to interpret what I am reading. Not only that but it has helped with
time I have spent reading the Bible as well as the amount of information I understand and take
away from time spent reading. As mentioned before, this course has been useful in teaching me
better ways to understand why I believe what I believe and also how to back up my claims using
the Bible. It allows me to be stronger when standing up for God and His Word when asked. It
also allows me to provide a logical worded principal that might just help them understand Jesus’
love for us. With the principals I have learned though this course, I wish to be able to share
God’s Word with others around me and tell them of what I have learned, I wish to try and bring
them closer to God. I am hoping to use what I have learned to live a life that glorifies God in
everything I do.
One way I can pass on the information I have learned through this course with those around me
is in Bible study groups or youth group. I am not a very talkative person so I figured if there is
anywhere I can comfortably tell others about what I have learned, it would be in a place where
others have the same beliefs as me. Pretty much everyone can benefit from knowing ways to
study and actually understand the Bible. I hope that using the information I have learned; I can
effectively tell others about it and can hopefully influence other Christians lives and help them to
have a better walk with God. Not only Christians, but I want to pass on the Word of God to
nonbelievers so that hopefully they will come to walk with the Lord and know of His eternal
love for them. So that they can also be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ and eventually live
with God in heaven forever. One day, if the time comes, I also want to pass my knowledge onto
my children so that they may know God’s eternal love. So that one day they can pass it on to
others, spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. Having a strong understanding of the Bible and
its contents and being able to understand what I believe can aid me in preaching His word to all
those who are around me.
