Biblical Worldview Essay
“What is a biblical worldview? A biblical worldview is based on the infallible Word of
God. When you believe the Bible is entirely true, then you allow it to be the foundation of
everything you say and do. That means, for instance, you take seriously the mandate in
Romans 13 to honor the governing authorities by researching the candidates and issues,
making voting a priority.” [Tac16] As a Christian our worldview is theocentric, God is the center
of our world, our worldview is the result of examining all evidence to see God’s plan for the
world as a whole and each individual by themselves. [Tow07] People must keep a Biblical
Worldview in on the job, at the store, in church, at home, etc… Looking at things through a
mindset of how God would think of this and also keep in mind that everyone will view things
differently, as in the Elephant example by Towns in Core Christianity.
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are
endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty
and the pursuit of Happiness.” [Tho76] We must treat all individuals the way we would want to
be treated even if they are not treating us very well. As an HR Director I would need to
interview all types of people and I cannot base my hiring and firing decisions on anything other
than the way they perform on the job. God created us all, so wither we are black, white,
Hispanic or oriental we are all the same and must be treated as such. Do not hire a person that
you deem to be attractive but with no skills over a person that has all the skills but does not
look as attractive. When offering benefits, hourly compensation or bonuses each employee
must also be evaluated based on merit and nothing else. Colossians 4:1 ESV – “Masters, treat
your slaves justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.”

As an employee of a company, doing what is right as a Christian for the company
should be priority. Colossians 3:23 ESV – “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and
not for men,” Proverbs 10:4 ESV – “A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent
makes rich.” Do not ride the clock, take office supplies, excessive breaks, gossip, laugh at dirty
jokes, abuse internet privileges, or anything that would mar your testimony. Do not participate
in after-hours bar run or any activity that could lead to the perception that you are just as the
sinner is. Keep yourself from anything that will cause your co-workers or bosses to think less of
your walk with God. As a Christian we may be the only biblical source that the sinner sees on
the job, so keep your testimony clean. 1 Timothy 4:12 ESV – “Let no one despise you for your
youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”
Romans 12:2 - "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind." Study the word, read the word, live the word and
be a testimony for Christ in all that you do on and off the job. Do not cheat your employee or
your employer, do not favor one over another and keep your life spotless before God and man,
but if you happen to fall always remember 1 John 2:1-29 ESV – “My little children, I am writing
these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with
the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only
but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if
we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his
commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly
the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: ...”
