Biblical Worldview Essay
In this world, we all have high expectations of what our lives should be. We never take
into consideration of the following question: “What would Jesus do in a situation like this?” We
always tend to move inward and not know how to respond in a Christ-like way. We all have been
taught that we should show more love and compassion to those whom have different worldviews
from us. In today’s society, we see people of different races being segregated and we see
religions bad mouthing other religions to show that their God is “greater” than any other God
here on this Earth.
In our schools, we have people of all different nations and walks of life have to say the
Pledge of Allegiance. In the Pledge of Allegiance, we all required to stand even if there is not our
original “anthem” I guess you could say. In many high schools, a lot of people are shamed for
not standing to the Pledge of Allegiance. Some people have also a hard time into believing that
this is “One nation under God”. Many people do not believe in such a “God”. Yet, in John 14:6,
it states: “I am the way, the truth and the life.” There is no other God that surpasses our own. We
always are taught about the different set religions in school; we have also a super hard time
trying to decide which one is right for our lifestyle. We can evaluate their lifestyle, but only they
can choose their biblical worldview based off of the decision. Their worldview is something we
need to respect as well. We tend to overlook others’ worldviews as we are shoving our own down
their throats. As you can see, in our schools, we are told to support something that it is forced
and that is not the way we should be.
Secondly, in the churches, you may think it is common to see a biblical worldview here,
but sometimes, it is really hard. In Elmer Towns’ article, he states the following: “When Jesus
exited the grave, He had renewed the life that was terminated in death, but there was much more
to His resurrection than taking up where He had left off three days earlier” (2002). In this quote,
this is what truly happened to Jesus. Firstly, people are brought into this church with the sense of
a what a worldview is. It is the way you interact with fellow believers, the way you take into
account of the people around you, and the way you also open your heart to God’s dance floor.
Secondly, you will notice how that these people will act like their worldview is completely better
than the one you have grown accustomed to as a child. As a child, one grows up knowing that the
Ten Commandments are the way you can lead a non-sinful life. Yet, as we read the verse, Isaiah
59:2, “But your iniquities have separated you from your Go; your sins have hidden his face from
you, so that he will not hear.” Reading upon this, we find ourselves in an automatic place of
concern knowing that even if we do not live the worldview He had intended for us, then we end
up not being successful for His glory.
As the world carries on, we realize that the worldview is important to us. We continue
living our lives out like we know what will happen. We find that God is the only truth out there.
In the book of 1 John, chapter 4, and verse 19, it says the following: “We love because He first
loved us.” Reading this, we know that there is only one way to find our hearts in the right place.
We are the ones to say, “Take us as we are and love and care for us.” We are also the ones to say
“We are in the need of a Savior.”
