THEO 104
We are all born as sinners. No matter how many times we try, we will sin again. Thankfully,
Jesus came so that all of our sins ma be washed away. It is also relieving to know that we are all
created in the image of God. While this is a good thing, it is important to know that this does nor
protect us from sin. While in the business world it is important to evangelize, it is also key to
know that we are created in the image of god and how this will effect our future jobs. As
someone who wants to be an event planner I need to remember that mankind is created in the
image of God, and I should not do event that do not withstand my moral beliefes, and I should be
honest and deliever what I promise.
Since mankind is created in the image of God, as an event planner, I should not do events
that go against my moral beliefs. In this industry it is easy to get caught up in events that go
against Christian values. Two prime examples include gay weddings and bachorlette parties.
The bible is very clear on homosexuality, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not
inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters,
nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,” 1 Corinthians 6:9. We can all fall, but this
does not mean that I have to encourage it. Being a Christian, I believe that homosexuality is
wrong, and in my profession I will not endorse it. This can also be applied to bachorlette parties.
Once meeting a client and seeing if they are wanting things that do not line up with my morlas,
drunkenness, male strippers, and other activities along these lines, I will have to walk away.
Practicing what I preach is very important because if someone else
Since mankind is created in the image of God, as an event planner, I will keep my word
and deliver what I have quoted and promise. Honesty is something that is important in every
aspect of life. Proverbs 12:22 says, “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act
faithfully are his delight.” As an event planner there are so many ways to cut corners or ways to
be sneaky to make a profit. Heres an example: I say that there will be 8 oz chicken served, but
the catering company has a deal on 6 oz chicken. While most people may not notice, it is still
cutting corners and not being honest. If I say that I will deliver something, then I will do just
that.
THEO 104
God never cut corners with us, everything he promised was given to us. This also can go towards
expenses too. It is easy to scam people or take more money as they just want to have the event
and will pay whatever it may cost.
Being an event planner is something that I have wanted to do for years. The fast pace,
constant moving, and creativity is something that will work very well with my personality. I
want to be able to make a difference in this career, even that means making some hard decisions.
My life verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19, “ Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all
circumstances; this is the will of God for your life.” I have nothing to worry about. If I stand
behind my moral beliefs then it will be pleasing to God. Same goes for my own personal
honesty and integrity. God created us all, and all of us are sinners. If I can realize this and work
around it so that I am honoring God in my job, I will not be able to ask for much more.
