INTRODUCTION
God shows us (his children) exactly who he is in these two very powerful ways. God’s scripture
is the first way. The bible states that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is
profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man
of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16, New King
James Version). The second way is God’s creation. “For by Him all things were created that are
in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or
principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16).
God sets the perfect example for his creation. God shows us his righteous, loving, merciful,
graceful, character daily.

EXAMPLE 1
First, God wants a relationship with all his children. The best way to first get to know God is by
reading his scripture which is a guild for us to follow and facts about who God really is. “I have
heard some suggest that the B-I-B-L-E is God's Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Some
view the Bible as a roadmap to life or an instruction manual for life. These are fine ways of
looking at the Bible, but they are secondary to the importance of the Bible being the very words
of God” (Etzel and Small, pg.35). When I started on my “journey” to get to know God, my eyes
were first opened by reading the biblical book of Job. I thought of Job as such a righteous man.
This bible story showed me how a man could go from knowing a great deal about God to
obtaining a more intimate, spiritual, and personal relationship with God how that relationship
transforms who you are for the better. I liked this book because it made me really think about

what was happening to Job. Most of the story tells of Job and his companions saying all that they
know about God, however, the story goes to show that their views on God fell short of truly
understanding the complex plans and thoughts of God. Once God talks with Job, Job has a
greater understanding about God “Listen, please, and let me speak; You said, 'I will question you,
and you shall answer Me. "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees
You” (Job 42:4-5).

EXAMPLE 2
God greatest creation in this universe is you and me (humans). The bible states that “we are His
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we
should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10). Scripture tells us that God has a plan for all of us before
we are conceived, or even thought of “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you
were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations” (Jeremiah 1:5). God loves us
deeply and unconditionally, If God showed us one hundred present of the love He has for us, we
would not be able to handle it all. It would depress us to feel all the love God has for us despite
all the wrong and sinful things we all do sometimes “We are to live in obedience to God, but
when God is moved out of his place in our lives, we miss the life that God desires for us” (Etzel
and Small, pg. 171). In Romans 5:8, it states “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in
that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”. God is so incredibly graceful, merciful, and
loving. Love is way more precious than a human feeling or emotion, love is God’s true nature
and character. God hates the sin, not the sinner. We are to love one another as God loves us “A
new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also
love one another” (John 13:34).

CONCLUSION
The Bible is the greatest book ever written. Once a person starts reading the Bible with an open
heart and mind, you will be truly amazed with all that you learn about God’s love and great
sacrifice for us. The many historical events that take place in the bible shape our lives today.
Because loves us so much, He continually leads us to a righteous path to our salvation as we
travel the path to destruction from our sins. Because life is hard, God shows us bright signs that
display which way we are to go “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will
give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28). If your belief is that the one true God will judge you one day, it
would be of great benefit to you to get to know who God really is and draw close to him while
also following Christ example of a true believer of God.
