The Bible has many different authors, yet one divine Author. God breathed upon the
authors His words which He wanted to be written. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful
for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,” (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV). Each
of the writing, Old Testament to New Testament never once contradict themselves. The Word of
God is united in both Testaments. Being in unity is important not only in text, but in our
everyday lives as Christians. “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell
together in unity” (Psalm 133:1, KJV). “The body of Christ is an image that communicates both
the unity and diversity of Christ's body” (Etzel & Small, 2016). To be in unity is an example of
being Christ-like.
There are multiple examples of theological beliefs in Biblical doctrine. For example, the
Trinity is a wonderful example of unity and coherence of the Scripture. “The grace of the Lord
Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen”
(2 Corinthians 13:14, NKJV). The only way to God, the Father, is first through Jesus Christ.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me” (John 14:6, NKJV). Another example is God’s creation of humans. We were
created in His image. “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our
likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the
cattle, over all[a] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So, God
created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created
them (Genesis 1:26-27, NKJV). God created us to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to watch over
the lands and to be fruitful.
The Trinity is a strong component in a Christian’s life. We talk to God through Jesus, we
feel the Holy Spirit’s strong presence around us, and we know God is the Father and creator of

every single thing. The word Trinity is not found in the scriptures; however, “[t]he word itself is
a theological term used to designate the three persons of the Godhead and their relationship with
each other” (Etzel & Small, 2016).
Why did God create humans? King David questioned that same thing in Psalm 8:3-4,
"When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers … what is man that you are mindful of
him, the son of man that you care for him?" God chose to make us as part of His eternal plan.
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the
breath of life; and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:7). “He chose to use limited humanity
to communicate something about His infinite self, and that to me is truly amazing” (Etzel &
Gutierrez, 2015). We should feel so honored that God chose us to be the hands and feet of Jesus,
to look after the earth and everything in it.
Theological beliefs and Biblical doctrine go hand in hand. From the Old Testament to the
New Testament, not once has God’s Word had any contradiction. Although, many people today
want to compromise and change God’s Word, His Word remains true and will never change.
There are multiple authors that took part in writing the Bible, but God is the ultimate, Divine
Author. He just used other individuals to get His Words down.
