Athletic professionals require fabrics that accommodate their performance as well as the healing
of their bodies. The compression sports socks are fashioned to meet these needs by boosting
blood circulation and flow thus offering general relief to muscles that would have been fatigued.
This can be very useful to athletes who perform high-intensity and strenuous exercises on a
regular basis and require a quick muscle recovery to maintain their performances at par. “The use
of compression socks during training aims to help the skeletal-muscle pump, increase deep
venous velocity, and/or decrease blood pooling in the calf veins and alleviate delayed-onset
muscle soreness.” Stanek, J. M. (2017). The material that is used in the manufacturing of these
socks is also leading edge and it has been designed to pull moisture away from the feet as the
activity goes on so that the feet do not sweat. Thus, compression socks are ideal for providing
specific support to muscles and joints which can be helpful in reducing the strain and potential
for injury during periods of the high impact on the body.
