Practical steps to Friendship
Muslims believe that people are naturally good, which makes them respectful of other beliefs. In Islam, a
person of strong beliefs is respected, someone who is not tossed around by different ideas but rather
stands firm no matter what. Therefore, they would respect a strong Christian who is fully convinced of
their beliefs. A practical step would be to let them observe the fact that you stand by what you believe
before trying to convince them that Allah is not God.
Sharing the Gospel with a Muslim
Be respectful of the person and do not try to argue with them, talk about Jesus, who he was and what he
did, they need to understand that Christianity involves a personal relationship with Christ. Do not
criticize their current beliefs in Allah, the Quran, and Muhammed, tell them the truth of the gospel.
Muslim Worldview Hindrances
In the Quran, their god has no sons therefore they would not believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of
God. The god of the Quran does not love wrong doers so the fact that the Christ of the bible welcomes
sinners and transforms them would seem foreign to them.
Challenges
Timothy 2:4 along with many other verses in the Scripture commands followers of Christ to evangelize.
Jesus Himself gave this command in the great commission. Personal challenges for me to share the
gospel in the united states are minuscule compared to Christians other countries that are facing death
for even saying the name of Jesus, much less trying to evangelize others. People living with religious
freedom tend to become self-focused and allow a fear of man to grow. When viewed in the light of the
massive sacrifice Christ made for us, how can we not risk embarrassment or even death to spread the
news of salvation and possibility of being right with Him. (King James Bible 2009).
