Part One:
Methods of Sharing the Gospel
There are many approaches to sharing the gospel. I will be outlining two popular
methods that offer a concise framework for sharing the gospel with confidence. The first
method I will be highlighting is known as Romans Road which is a scriptural pathway to
salvation (Bible Study Tools, 2024). The starting point on Romans Road is Romans 3:23. Since no
individual is free of sin, this foundational scripture paves the way for understanding our need
for salvation. Next stop, Romans 6:23. Here we see that the consequence, or wage, for our sin is
death. As we continue our journey to Romans 5:8 God demonstrates his unconditional love for
us by offering a path to redemption. God sends his son Jesus to pay our debt. In order for us to
be washed free of sin Jesus willingly paid the ultimate sacrifice. At stop four (Romans 8:1) we
come to realize that because Jesus has paid our debt “there is now no condemnation for those
who are in Christ”. The last stop on the road (Romans 10:9), comes to a fork, where we must
each must make a personal choice to walk with Jesus by confessing our sin and accepting him as
our savior. A path that leads to everlasting life. The other path, a literal dead end.
The second method I would like to outline is the FAITH method. Which uses each letter
of the word faith to explain key concepts of the gospel (Gospel Script: Faith) . F is for
Forgiveness. It emphasizes that because we all have sinned, we are all in need God’s forgiveness
(Romans 3:23). A is for Available. John 3:16 tells us that forgiveness is available to everyone.
However, it is not automatic. I is for Impossible, because it is impossible to obtain forgiveness on
your own (Eph 2:8-9). In fact, the only way for a person to be forgiven and receive the promise
of everlasting life is to turn away from sin and turn to Jesus. So, the T in faith stands for Turn.
When it comes to heaven and the letter H, Jesus is the How. In John 14:6, Jesus himself says “I
am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through Me.” When

sharing the gospel and discussing how someone can obtain eternal life in heaven, we can follow
this simple outline and tell them the answer is through F.A.I.T.H.

Part Two The Gospel
Interview
1. Who did you interview?
Because I don’t identify as Christian in the traditional sense the answers to the interview
questions will be my own responses.
2. What has been your religious upbringing?
My family is mostly Christian Baptist. My parents identified as Christian, but I don’t ever
recall them going to church or even reading the bible for that matter. I would say they
believed but they didn’t practice. The children, however, were encouraged to go to
church. An elder in our congregation would often pick us up for Sunday school. Ms. Ruth

was her name. I remember having a lot a fun going around on the church bus Christmas
Caroling and being rounded up for vacation bible school during the summer. I was
baptized at the age of 10.
3. If you could ask God a question, what would you ask Him and Why?
If I could ask God one question it would be why he does not spare the children from
suffering because I’ve asked this question many times I have yet to receive a response
that seemed suffice.
4. What has had the biggest impact on your current beliefs about God and
Christianity?
This should be two separate questions because my beliefs about Christianity do not
represent my beliefs about God. I do believe in the personal God of the bible, and I
would say that I have a biblical worldview. However, as for Christianity I believe it has
been tainted. Of those who identify as Christian there are few people who live by the
gospel. I highly regard those who make a sincere effort to do so. I personally have a hard
time wrapping my head around Christians who keep pagan holidays and traditions like
christmas and easter, while doing so in in the name of Jesus. This is the main reason I
don’t really attend church, especially during those times of year.
5. What do believe regarding the Bible?
I believe the bible is the word of God and, although I believe that the most relevant
parts of the bible have remained intact, I also believe that the bible has been tainted by
man.
6. What do you believe about Jesus Christ?
I have questions about who he is. Is he God or is he the son of God. It seems
contradictory to say that God sent his only son to die for our sins because how can
Jesus be his only son if he is in fact God?
7. Has someone ever shared with you how you could go to heaven?
RLGN 104
The gospel has been shared with me many times.
8. What has been the greatest barrier to you becoming a follower of Jesus Christ?
Although I’d like to say I’m a follower of Jesus there are some things in the bible I am not
certain of and some I simply do not believe. This conflict prevents me from openly
sharing the gospel because it feels hypocritical of me to do so.
9. If heaven exists, and you could go there, would you like to know how you can go to
heaven? I don’t think heaven or hell are what most Christians believe they are.
However,
I do aspire to have eternal life in closeness with God, and I believe Jesus is the way.
10. Please read The Gospel Message found in Module 2: Week 2.
11. What are your thoughts regarding The Gospel Message?
As for the gospel, I am thankful for God’s gift of redemption and Jesus’s sacrifice. I do
accept him as my savior. However, I have this nagging sense that something is missing
from them bible and no amount of study or prayer have been able to help me get past it.
I feel in my heart that the feminine aspects of the creator have been suppressed and, in
some cases, omitted. I imagine that is due to cultural reasons at the time the bible was
written. Although Christians readily point out that God has no gender, in the same
instance they give God gender by using He, Him, Father and Son. Each time I open the
bible I feel like something is not quite right. So, I continue to learn, pray and seek the
truth.
