Discussion Thread: Gospel Message Friendships and Barriers
I opted to adopt the following Islam as my worldview based on the content of the course. Islam is a
religion that embraces all aspects of life. The topic is love. It's dedicating the rest of your life to another
person. With over 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide, Islam is the world's second most popular religion after
Christianity. "Submission to God's will" is what "Islam" signifies. Muslims believe in a single, all-knowing
God known as Allah in Arabic. Islam's adherents strive to live lives of total subordination to Allah,
believing that nothing can happen without Allah's permission, but that humans have free will. The Holy
Quran is Islam's most sacred literature. The Hadith is another important book Muslims also Revere some
material found in the Judeo-Christian Bible.
Let's face it: gospel discussions may be a disaster. After all, we're not talking about a sentimental, get-
along message here. The gospel has a tense quality to it. Even though the gospel offends, there are ways
to share it without causing further harm. Our Muslim neighbors, coworkers, and acquaintances may
dress, talk, and worship in different ways than you and me. Alternatively, they may dress and speak in a
manner like yours and refrain from participating in public worship. It makes no difference. We love God
as Christ followers, and people who love God are commanded to love their neighbors.
The prophets are role models for all Muslims because of their dedication to Allah, intense fear of Him,
and powerful love for Him. Muslims believe that Islam is the only true religion, and they are frequently
zealous in their devotion to it. Seven key ideas that a Muslim must accept as part of their religion are at
the heart of Islam. These convictions are Belief in God (also known as 'Allah' in Arabic). Angelism is a
belief in the existence of angels (both good and evil). Belief in God's revealed books. Belief in the
numerous prophets of God (including Adam, Abraham, Moses, David, and others who Christians and
Jews are familiar with). Accepting that a Last Day/Final Judgment will occur. Belief in divine intervention
in human affairs. Belief in life after death.
Stick to the typical topics that come up when Islam and Christianity collide, such as Jesus and the Bible.
Use those themes to educate your friend about the truth about them, such as Christ's claims, his death
and resurrection, and the Bible's status as God's inspired word. Take solace in the knowing that God
oversees salvation. Work hard to study the local culture and figure out the best approach to share the
gospel. Don't try to persuade them to accept your thoughts. When it comes to stepping outside of Islam,
this is a strong decision that one is not so quick to make considering how religious and faithful they are
to Allah also because their family will almost certainly disown them. I will personally come to know
them, understand them, and comprehend their beliefs.
