Research Paper: Biblical Worldview Assignment
Part I
What is a Worldview?
A worldview is a person's fundamental perspective on life and reality (Weider &
Gutierrez, 2013, p. 58). Defined as "the sum total of our beliefs about the world," it guides daily
choices and actions (Colson & Pearcey, as cited in Weider & Gutierrez, 2013, p. 59). A
worldview functions as a filter through which individuals interpret life, forming the basis for
decision-making (Weider & Gutierrez, 2013, p. 60). It represents an underlying orientation of the
heart towards fundamental elements of reality, shaping how individuals perceive and interact
with the world (Weider & Gutierrez, 2013, p. 58). A worldview comprehensive framework
through which an individual interprets and understands the world around them. It includes
beliefs, values, assumptions, and perspectives that shape one's approach to life, ethics, and
decision-making (E. Hindson & Towns, 2006, p. 20). (128 Word Count)

The Question of Origin:
Scientists used the Big Bang theory to explain the origins of the universe, leading to
further testable inferences. Christians, on the other hand, did not accept the hypothesis due to
scientific factors and uncertainties. Genesis has three chapters that depict God's creation of man
and woman. The first scripture is Genesis 1:26, "which stated that God created mankind in his
own image and likeness." Genesis 2:7 is the second passage, "which records that God made
mankind from the dust of the earth." The third text, Genesis 2:18, tells us that God made a
woman for the man. (Holy Bible, Hebrews 11:3— “By faith we understand that the worlds have
been framed by the word of God, so that what is seen hath not been made out of things which
appear” = the world was not made out of sensible and preexisting material, but by the direct fiat
of omnipotence” (Powell, 2006).
The media can also influence a person’s worldview (p. 63)
Religious education can also impact the development of a person’s worldview. (63)

NATURALISM
This worldview begins with the presupposition that God does not exist, and therefore
knowledge and existence must be answered in natural terms as opposed to supernatural terms
and descriptions.
PANTHEISM
For thousands of years various forms of pantheism have existed. Whether it is Hinduism,
Buddhism, or more recently the new age movement, all varieties of pantheism involve reverence
for theFUniverse rather than for any creator being or personal God. Pantheists deny the existence
of a personal God.

THEISM
Theism is the belief that “God exists.” In particular, it is the belief that only one God exists.
This God is usually personal and relates to humankind in an intimate way.
