Critical Thinking Research Paper Assignment.
Part 1.
I have chosen to write my research paper over the worldview of Islam.
The creation through a Islamic worldview.
The world begins and ends with Allah, the creation is not described in detail but is a
starting point for Allah’s power. Allah (God) the absolute creator of the universe its laws and
components. [It is God who raised the skies without support, as you can see, then assumed His
throne, and enthralled the sun and the moon (so that) each runs to a predetermined course. He
disposes of all affairs, distinctly explaining every sign that you may be certain of the meeting
with your Lord] (Ar-Ra'd 13:2).
In the Our’an the creation of the universe by Allah’s will with a single word or command: “Be.”
[The creator of the heavens and earth from nothingness, He only has to say when He wills a
thing “Be,” and it is.) (Al-baqarah 2:117) He created the heavens and earth, the sun and moon,
and the rest of the universe. Then He had created plants and animals and placed them on the
earth and then He decreed upon them the laws by which the natural order of creation functions.
The question of identity.
1In the Qur’an a human being can be the best and the most perfect creature, if compared to any
form of matter or other living things such as animals or plants; humans are better more intelligent
and perfect. Man was given a special place in Allahs universe, man was not made in God’s image
but rather 2Allah distinguished man from His other creations giving man two privileges not given
to anything else but man, freedom of choice and specialized knowledge of “creative knowledge”.
3“Then we made the life-germ a clot, then we made the clot a lump of flesh, then we
made the lump of flesh bones, then we clothed the bones with flesh, then we caused it to grow
into another creation. So blessed be Allah, the best of the creators.” (23:14)

The Question of meaning/purpose.
4In Islam man’s ultimate life objective is to worship the creator Allah by abiding by the
divine guidelines revealed in the Qur’an and the traditions of the prophet Muhammad. We are to
know the nature of God, and the purpose of all creation to reveal the nature also to prove its
value as the ultimate treasure.
The Question of Morality.
In Islam as a comprehensive way of life surrounds a complete moral system its important
aspects of its worldview Islams moral system not only defines morality but guides the human
race in how to gain it. It comes from the creed of belief in One God as creator and sustainer of
the universe. By following the Qur’an and worshipping Allah, life leads in a harmonious life
with the Divine will which will achieve peace in the world and everlasting success in the life of
the hereafter.
The Question of Destiny.
What Muslims believe when they die is God (Allah) judges them by weighing the deeds
of each person He then decides if the person’s Akhirah (afterlife) lies in Jahannam (Hell) or in
Jannah (Heaven) from the weight of their good and bad deeds throughout their life. Muslims
believe their immortal souls are sent to one or the other.
Part 2.
Biblical Worldview.
The question of Origin.
Life and Mankind was created by God, the bible is the word of God and is truth.
God created the heavens and earth and everything in it. “In the beginning God created the
heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1), (Genesis 1:2-1:25).

The Question of Identity.
Men and woman are created in God’s image. Humankind is reflected by some of Gods
attributes. (Genesis 2:7) “Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” Humans are
more important because of God giving us souls, the gift of works, hearing, speech, our ability
and accountability in their use. But most importantly our personal relationship and the love for
God.
The Question of meaning/purpose.
(Psalms 100:2-3) “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing,
Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his
people, and the sheep of his pasture.” We are suppose to worship God and to know He is the
Lord He is who made us, we are His. We are to love Him with all our hearts, minds, body and
souls. We are to be faithful and of service to Him until we are with Him eternally.
The Question of Morality.
Morality is determined because we were made from the likeness of God so we know right
from wrong. Like our feelings or conscience is a way of determining this If we follow Jesus He
is the definition of right from wrong. (John 14:6) “Jesus saith unto him, I am the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
The Question of Destiny.
We are to love God and follow Jesus ask for forgiveness and to know and believe that
Jesus is our Lord and Savior. We are to accept Jesus on our own free will so that when He returns
or we die we may live eternally with God in heaven. For those who reject Jesus Christ reject God
then they shall be cast down to hell and be separated from God. (Ecclesiastes 12:7) “Then shall
the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.”

The Islam Worldview is very similar to the Biblical worldview Muslims have many of
the same beliefs as Christians. Both the bible and Qur’an state the universe was created in six
days. The difference in the creation Christians believe man was created in Gods image with soul
from His breath. The Qur’an man was made from dust and water Allah created man of clay like
potters. The purpose of life both are encouraged to be good of will and to follow Gods teachings
to enjoy life, work the earth, and be prosperous. But morality is looked at differently in
Christians rather than Islam. Islam follows moral standings of the 5 articles of faith and 5 pillars
of Islam, Christians follow the 10 Commandments, morality through faith, fasting, prayer, and
pilgrimage. They both have strong beliefs of death.
