Qualitative Analysis of Comments from YouTube:
Using the first 100 useful responses (provide a definition for useful), make a simple list, in
Microsoft Excel (file provided and must be submitted with this assignment), of those that agreed
and disagreed; present this as a pie-chart. Second, make a list of why they agreed and why they
disagreed and include key words, quotes, from the comments. Create 3 categories as to why they
agreed and why they disagreed. You define the categories which should occur based on review.
Lastly, rank order the top 5 responses from for each category from agree to disagree and create a
graph of their frequency.
Definition of useful response:
Inclusion Criteria:
-Opinions of the watcher with explanation
-Productive feedback and/or suggestions
-Contributing to the conversation not just attacking what was said
-More thought in the response than just “thank you” or “great talk”
-Something that challenges the points in the video
-Not negative/putting down
-Comments on physical appearance or the videography rather than the content
-No advertisements/bots
