I really enjoyed the class as it has given me a path to explore the
relationship between psychology and Christianity. While reading through
the introduction and discussion post, I got to know many things about
every individual. The exploration of new topics and completion of every
assignment is helpful for me to grow as a better person as well as made
me an open-minded person.
At the beginning of the class, I had a different view, and now my view has
transformed related to Christianity and psychology. Previously, I was not
much into Bible, but after taking the course philosophy, I became a
different personality now. I have gathered an insightful view of the tension
between psychology and Christianity from various textbooks, discussion
posts, outside scholarly sources, and videos. I got to know that there are
many theories, outlooks, and philosophies related to the subject, but
every theory has its own limitation. As I already mentioned that my
dissertation paper uses alternative methods, and I have found a way to
incorporate every perspective into my research paper. A few years ago, I
wrote some parts of my research paper where I noticed that people are
not getting the right treatment that they deserve. Therefore, this course
will be helpful for me in connecting with my future patients while doing
the research process. In my research paper, I have highlighted the origins
of the tension between psychology and Christianity in most of the parts.
But meanwhile, I have realized that there is no need to continue the
tension as psychology is a loving act, and Christianity also spreads love
among the people (Myers et al., 2009). In addition, the work of a
professional psychologist is escalating as the ultimate goal of all human
activities involves the act of doing science and knowing in the love of
neighbour and God. I have found that the relationship should be
compromised like any other relationship as both balances the work in
terms of faith and science.
It has been identified that Bible recurs themes that restore faith in
humanity by encouraging people. The statement “I will restore you to
health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord” has more significance. It
can be said that the restoration process is about preserving, maintaining,
and reversing humanity. Moreover, restoration is about repairing and
renewing the relationship. There are many things that contradict the faith
and belief in God, but it is essential to believe as it gives hope to humans.
When it comes to research topics, I believe in humanity as it takes
dedication and faith. In the present context, I want to restore the
veteran’s confidence in the system as it provides an alternative method to
boost confidence.
