 I come to Liberty University with an undergrad in Psychology and a MBA
with an emphasis in Music Production. I consider myself a learner, a
follower, a leader, a mother, a daughter, a wife, and a nature and animal
lover. God gave me many talents in writing, art, music, photography, and
logical sciences. I see myself in the area of Psychology where it is applied
and where it is able to help others. The field that I am following on in my
path of life is Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Industrial
Psychology were led by the greats like Walter Dill Scott, Edward Titchener,
and James Cattell. Walter Dill Scott worked a lot in advertising along with
hiring practices. Edward Titchener gave us the term empathy. Today,
empathy is the solution to many issues in the workplace. From customers
and clients to managers and CEOs, everyone has issues and empathy not
sympathy helps to address those issues. James Cattell worked in my home
state at the University of Pennsylvania. He helped establish psychology as
a science in education and developed an intelligent test.
 As I read through Johnson (2010), I threaded the Five Views with the
psychology in my research area. I never really see myself fitting into a
category. Maybe this is where I branch out. I see the world as a weaved
string of similarities. We all have a consciousness that helps us push
through our differences. There are more similarities than differences and I
have limited biases then. I see the world as one giant eclectic ball.
Religions have unique qualities but there are many viewpoints and
customs that are the same in many of the world religions. People embrace
higher beings in most of the religions.
 A Levels of Explanation View is one way that I can see the world but
then I think back to my string (the web string) that links us and all of the
world in which we live together and want to branch that idea out into the
world. We exist. We exist with something around us - the environment.
We exist with a higher being - God. We exist with mind and body. They
melt together. Wholistic approach in psychology is not a new thing. I do
not see the areas of each topic like spirituality, society, environment, etc.,
as being separate and distinct. I see the human being as the whole in the
world and everything melts and runs together into one or the other. You
cannot be social and exist without a mind and body. Johnson (2010)
discussed that view distinguished that sin was separate from other issues.
What if sin or attempted sin could lead to mental issues? For example, a
Vice President of Operations embezzles money and is discovered. He
contemplates suicide and acts upon it outside of the hotel. In the letter he
leaves behind, he confesses that he committed a sin and that he is sorry
and is aware of his actions. Hypothetically, then his sin led to a mental
lapse of judgement. For all purposes this is a scenario and I am thinking
out loud.
 I have read the greats from Aristotle to Aquinas, to Socrates to Plato and
Kant and Nietzsche. Now, I would like to contribute my thoughts into the
world. I am not perfect nor smug but I think differently than most and see
the world in pictures. Every story that is told is created in image form in
my mind. I see that Psychology is a branch on a tree of knowledge and
that those branches sometimes bend and swoop into each other. There is
an interdisciplinary approach to the world. Again, the word holistically
appears to me.
  Today, I look to major businesses to lead sustainable practices, climate
conversations, and work and life balance. These are some of the major
areas in the field. I, then, turn to Cambridge Core for Industrial and
Organizational Psychology. It is located
athttps://www.cambridge.org/core/journals/industrial-and-organizational-
psychology#. It has some great issues. Lately, basic income or universal
income is a major topic. It would help so many to recover during this
difficult time. The pandemic is another issue still being discussed and the
what if scenarios of another issue arising. This is a topic that needs to be
looked at because companies want to return to job sites. Many of us want
to work from home. The use of technology, testing, and ethical dilemmas
are in the newest journal.
  I see Industrial and Organizational(I/O) Psychology as a mix of business
with applied psychology and counseling psychology. There are hands on
approaches, testing approaches, and a mix of both. I see marketing and
advertising as the use of I/O psychology. I see people in the workplace as
constantly evolving along with their needs, wants, and desires. A good
balance is perfect. I feel that I am on the right path. I am still routing my
thoughts into my dissertation topics to begin narrowing down as I make
my way down my path. I am blessed to be here. I am the first in my family
to pursue college. My brother and I used to spend hours talking
philosophy. I was 8 and he was 18. One belief that we had is whatever is
was and whatever was will be. I find my way to the next part of my
journey which is a blessing and I thank God, my family, my kids and my
new husband along the way. I always wanted a PhD since my early days
of college as I was inspired by my Philosophy professor and Psychology
professor. Here I am. The world is open along with God's hands.
