Being a thought leader is defined in the (Schooley 2021) as an influencer,
someone who, based on their expertise and perspective in the industry,
offers unique guidance, inspires innovation and influences others.
I feel led to become a thought leader in Academia.' My purpose is to assist
students with understanding self and others at a deeper level to help
lessen the division among people.' To see everyone less on the surface,
but more by demonstration of self.
In today’s world, people truth is derived from like minds of environmental
circumstances and from media, the internet, and social media.' It has
become prominent to question God or to be a self-thinker (atheist) and
not conform to religion as a way of being a leader and not a follower.'
Fewer children are being raised in the church, and an increasing number
of them get their first introduction to the world through the internet and
social media.' Parents are teaching children free will and free speech,
which is good to build independent thinkers.' Still, without moral structure,
it can be damaging to the overall developmental stages.' In (Crone 2018)
states that “Recent research investigating the consequences of
laypeople’s free will beliefs (FWBs) for everyday moral behavior suggests
that stronger FWBs are associated with various desirable moral
characteristics.”' Even when research shows an overstatement of truth,
the presumed result still lingers and suggests the opposite.
It is important to incorporate a moral code of ethics when raising
children.' Therefore, in my opinion, to digest the foundational concepts of
psychology and invest in a morality code when developing children's
minds.
The area of interest and where I feel the Lord is leading me to become a
thought leader is in the field of lifelong learning.
It was always important to me to learn and understand the behaviors of
others, and I found my calling after taking the first psychology course.'
Since then, the mission has been to connect with my purpose, and the
combination of psychology and biblical studies helped actualize my
purpose. 'I always knew my purpose was to serve and UNDERSTAND
people at a deeper level, which initially drew me to psychology so to have
the ability to help students understand not only psychology but also
spirituality.' The concept that heightens in mentioned in (Johnson 2009),
when it states that, “because Christians believe the Bible to be specially
inspired by God (1Tim 3:16).' Revealing matters of essential importance
Christians have usually accorded the Bible’s teachings on human nature
with a unique authority regarding how to think about psychological
matters.”' This is my purpose, and I am happy with the pursuit and the
journey.
