A biblical worldview on gender dysphoria
As mentioned before, I am a language teacher and in the doctoral program for
developmental psychology. Teachers have a responsibility to be aware of each student’s mental,
physical, and developmental growth. I want my knowledge of developmental psychology to
carry into the classroom to best assist students in their learning journey and to provide a safe
environment. Knowledge of developmental psychology will help me design both age and
level-appropriate assignments. Over the past few years, however, I’ve become interested in the
study of gender dysphoria amongst adolescents. Sadly, I’ve noticed an alarming increase in
gender dysphoria at the high school level. While the Bible makes it clear that there are only two
genders (Genesis 1:27), there are some who have not had the opportunity to know God or hear
His word and consequently have taken the worldview of multiple genders.
From a Biblical Worldview, the Christian faith is a psychological view in its own right.
Through God and Scripture, we gain knowledge of how humans should behave and that we only
