Academic Question
Domjam discusses how punishment can influence behavior modification and alteration.
Along with punishment, there are three factors that tie in with this. According to Domjam, 2014,
punishment can be a simple process and the process for punishment is where following an
instrumental response an unpleasant or unwanted stimulus is provided. In addition, the reaction
is decreased or suppressed if the process goes through, and the process becomes successful.
However, the only targeted responses that are likely to occur in the first place can be used to see
or to observe the punishment because it shows a decrease in the activity. Punishment is the main
thing that can alter one’s behavior, but there is three main factors that tie with it. The first factor
is to apply and use some type of punishment in an effective manner. The second factor is while
using punishment use it in a timely manner and not to use any frustrative acts of punishment. The
third factor is to use punishment immediately and do not wait around. In this case, my four-year-
old is constantly acting out while I am trying to get her ready for Sunday Worship service. A few
ways that Domjam explains that can be successful is to use a type of punishment and be
consistent with the punishment while the child is acting out. In addition, it is important to
become aware of why the child is acting out. In addition, it is important to stay calm and explain
the reason why I am punishing my child. (Domjam, 2014).

Biblical Question
The basic human emotion of fear is known to be unpleasant, and God made us to have
survival instincts that help us respond to fear. The Bible explains how to overcome fear, and
explains what fear is. The Bible explains that fear is the main result of a lack of faith, while the
world might perceive fear as a result of a bad situation that has occurred. In addition, the Bible
tells us how to overcome the emotion of fear and how to gain our faith back. For example, in the
book of Isaiah chapter 41 and verse 10, it says, “So do not fear,;for I am with you; do not be
dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen;you and help;you; I will uphold you;with my
righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NIV). In the end, it is always important to know that God will
never leave or forsake us no matter what we are going through. In addition, one of the many
promises that God has promised us is that He will always be there to comfort us and give us
peace, even when others decide to leave us. From a personal experience, I had to use my faith to
overcome a personal fear of mine. I used to have a really bad fear of driving, and I would refuse
to drive anywhere. One way that helped me was to take it slow and I started to pray about my
situation. Now I am able to drive everywhere because God does listen and answers prayers. In
addition, I used to read this verses and pray before I started on the road, “God is our refuge;and
strength, an ever-present;help;in trouble. Therefore we will not fear,;though the earth give way
and the mountains fall;into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar;and foam and the
mountains quake;with their surging. ( Psalms 46:1-3, NIV).
