ABSTRACT
Pornography like all other sexual immorality has plagued our society. It has long been a
strong hold on people’s lives that it consumes that and allow there to lose control of their
sexual behaviors. Pornography has no discrimination age race, age or religion. For most
they not be aware that this epidemic has moved away from just impacting ordinary every
day man but have filtered its way into the church The paper will examine several article
on the subject matter. It will explain how the world look at pornography versus looking
through the lenses of Christ to see that any thing that man has become consumed with
could possible lead to a tragic demise. The paper will highlight that although man may
have disconnected himself from God, there is hope. Having an open mind into the
contrast of the various articles will also bring ones awareness to how people use their
worldview to justify behaviors, also been reminded that the material that these article will
be contrast is using a biblical perspective. One may question whether or not the education
community can provide more information to prevent our younger population from
seeking fulfillment in something that bring shame, disloyalty, disrespect and dehumiltion
to ones-self or to those they love. The task is great but God has not given his people the
attitude of trepidation but of healthy cognizance, so there I much to do in instructing
those who think this is there way of escape. There is a better way.

Article 1.Pornography-A Biblical Worldview Perspective
The author journals the fleshly, poignant and religious harm created by pornography and
puts divine caveat to safeguard us from its humiliation. Pornography has been shredding
apart the very framework of current humanity but the setback has been made much worse
with pornography propagation through the Internet. Both this article and the book by the
Balswicks have demonstrated that the writers are looking through their spiritual eyes
making the information unified.
Balswick & Balswick states, “Pornography always dehumanizes, and we
believe dehumanization is a violation of the value God places on human life and
sexuality”. (2008) On thing that I may say is different about the article would be some a
statistics. “Four million pornographic websites are available, 70% of porn is view during
work hours, 40% of pastors visit pornographic websites, 40 million adults regularly visits
Internet sites, that is like 10 times the amount of people who regularly watched baseball.
There are more similaries of both materials than there is contrast, which is
mainly the result that the authors have taken integrated Christian approach. Both authors
agree that God created both men and woman in his image. On the scientific level one
must not lose sight that addiction to porn like other addiction may be issue that affect the
biological and neurological reactions of an individual discharge the adrenal hormone
epinephrine in the brain. Like Balswick, definition of healthy sexuality can be intertwined
with Anderson argument and how he also paints a picture of a perfect union where sexual
intercourse is reserved for marriage only.

sexuality one must reframe from indulging in such behavior and work to keep themselves
pure from sexual immorality and help in removing this perversion from society. A
therapist can help the client understand that sexual immorality like pornography can be
very destructive to one emotional, physical and spiritual wholeness, therefore, “Flee from
sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever
sins sexually, sins against their own body”.

Article ll. Porn Addiction is Now Threatening an entire Generation
Porn use is a colossal problematic issue even amongst Christian. The article
revealed statistic from Barna given alarming date indicating the percentage of the
population that has been. More that 50 % of young adults has some interaction with
pornographic material at least once in thirty days. For the older adult the numbers
were below 50%. Given the usability of the Internet and its over indulgence in illicit
material it is a struggle for anyone who gravitate to find satisfaction in things so
intangible.
God creates people to enjoy sex but its is one for the right time with the right
person. No one is immune from sin, however, self cannot resist the temptation of
sexual immorality, Human have been given choices, rather that goes through this
brokenness alone, ask for help. Similarities between course work and this article
reveal that sexual immorality is a spiritual struggle and needs intense intervention
to prevent or stop a person from becoming destructive to himself and others. Also if

these longings become unmanageable it leads to exploitation that can essentially
make light of sex and impede sexuality.
People have been reminded to turn away from things that become
destructive to their being. Our society needs an open forum in the communities to
address these issues and to stop the spread of this epidemic. As the article
demonstrates that the young adult seem to be at greater risk, it is imperative that
resource are provided to prevent further action and prepare them for wholesome
sexuality.
Article III.The Pornography Plague is Striping our Humanity
Obrien (2015),”Pornography means complete separation of sexual function from the
person, thus making sexuality anonymous”. Individual who use pornography
diminishes himself or herself to, and the others to an entity of hankering and are
compelled to demonstrate behaviors of disgrace, self-effacement, viciousness,
perversion and fixation. Not only is this behavior self-destructive but also over time
even child can be maltreated in this torment of voluptuous gluttony.
In a culture that is snowballing on sexual promiscuity, means people will
trend to be esteemed only as being sexually eye-catching. The course work give
clarity to the difference of looking at human sexuality through a biblical lenses
versus a lustful desire. The article support Steve Arterbum presentation, “The world
standard allow anything that two people agree on “.I will go a bit further to say we
live in a sinful

world and people enjoys things that give a euphoria even if it meaning hiding to do it
and or lying about it.
Understanding that a person truly needs help, counselors and therapist must
now be empowered to work with people who enslave themselves to pornography.
First without condemnation, its is incumbent upon families, the church and
communities at large to provide resources. The Church must take a stance in
teaching and preaching that sex was not institute to bring harm but to share
intimacy in a relationship that God honors. Knowing that people from different
background may have a different spin on the topic of sexual immorality as it relates
to pornography, the bottom line is if it brings so much shame and guilt, if its dome in
secret, there is a problem. The article supports the knowledge gained from course
work that pornography is dehumanizing.
Article IV.Porn goes to College
Everyone needs a career, money and or/ satisfaction. This article embraces the
secular gratification of either working in the business of porn or how profitable this
market has become .No one stop to think how destructive this market as become.
The title literally mean what just what it said. Pornography material can be very
informative however, the article support porn and will find ways to present in to
college student. The author proves to college student that attachment in this
industry bring financial satisfaction i.e. pays college tuition etc. There is always the

This course material does not endorse or condone the practice of pornography.
Neither does it encourage people to seek employment in that arena. “Stay away from
every kind of evil”. 1 Thessalonians 5:22(NLT). Christians are confronted to bring
light and salt to a creation in frantic need for spirituality that gives connotation and
equitable thoughtfulness to human sexuality. This takes me to the next point;
therapist must be intense with the treatment to rescue people from this stronghold.
“God create human beings as choice making creatures with the ability to act
as well as to react. Human beings are not only aced upon; they are also capable of
making needed adjustments to biological and sociopsychological constraint”.
Article Violence against Women in Pornography
Like any one unchristlike behavior, there is always the negative that out ways the
positive. Within the porn arena women have be vindicated and violated, not only are
the emotionally abuse but also Pysically.This now trickles into the family and could
have tremendous impact on the children. Societies seem to glory any thing that
advertises sex. This article emphasis to it readers that in order to diminish such
behavior then action must be take to slow or eliminate the production of
pornography. The Internet being accessible to many, pornographic material is at
ones fingertip. This industry has dehumanized women as they perform sexual act
for money. Single women may say it’s just a job, but what happen to being abstinent
until the right time.

Baiswick &Balswick, “A biblical understanding of chastity must go beyond a
“letter of the law” view of what its is to be a “technical virgin” to an understanding
that chastity involves the whole person-body, mind and soul”.(2008) It is safe to say
that although the article did not take an integrated Christian approach, it is
objective against the rise and prosperity of the porn industry. Therapist must now
engage with women who have been used as sex object to desist from such behavior,
their bodies are for more than a tool for the act of sex.”Therefore, I urge you
brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifices,
holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship”. Romans 12:1(NIV)
Article VI. Problematic Online Pornographic Use
The escalation of attractiveness to the Internet, the convenience to pornography
has been a raising concern. The jeopardy of addictive conducts has arisen as a result
of watching online pornographic material. People who view these site/material
become so attached to the pleasure given that there is a fixation that could lead to
destructive life effects. A few of the destructive life effects; emotional. Psychological
and physical out comes leads to incompetence, anger, anxiety, and other sexual
addiction, which also impacts families.
Comparing this article to the course work it nothing short of what
information given in regards to living a life that is not designed by God and reaping
the consequences of one’s action. Those who struggle with this sexual impurity,

thought it would be just a first time and then that’s it, but only to be controlled by
something /someone who has a greater influence our their life.
“Internet access has radically changed the form of delivery of pornography
and its consumption. The consumption of pornography on the internet is abundant,
convenient, private and relatively inexpensive”.(Balswick & Balswick 2008).If a
client seeks help and the information is given that the internet plays a role in his
lifestyle, then , there must be recommendation as to thing he/she can do to avoid the
view of those material. The client can put a filter on the computer or electron device,
be in a area where other are and last but not least pray for the Father to help
him/her resist the temptation.
Article Vll.Online Pornography: Should School be Teaching Young People …
We live in a technological era where most of the schools are equipped with
computers and word processors. Many adolescent are retrieving online
pornographic material, deliberately or accidentally, and there are trepidation that
this could influence their sexual maturity and imminent bonding. The material seen
on pornographic site can be graphic, however whether you teach then safe surfing or
not young people become curiors and before you know it the are looking at things
that will in turn changed their behavior and lifestyle if help is no given immediately.
There has been a consensus that educators should instruct about the danger
correlated with pornography.

The schools will expedite dialogue-involving pornography as a part of a
broader sex education program, which will include parents. Those who may oppose
to such discussion in schools should be reminded that the exposure to the illicit
material in school is strictly for information purposes. The article does reiterate a
valid point that is similar to that of the course work, easy accessibility to
pornographic material. On the contrary it is the parent responsibility to instruct
their children, again it goes back to choices.
The therapist may have the entire family in a group setting to see how the
issues are dealt with in the home and how each person can be supportive to the
other. “Due to easy access, children are the targets of Internet pornographers.
Although there is a lack of good data of frequency of viewing internet pornography
by children, it is estimated that 90 percent of youth 12-18 have access to the
internet”. (Balswick & Balswick 2008)
Article VIII.Is Pornography use Associated with Sexual Difficulties
The study seem to be inconclusive that pornography is associated with sexual
difficulties on the contrary in the course work, a person may have sexual difficulties
during sexual intercourse due to his/her involvement in other sexual behaviors. If an
individual is used to a specific sex act and this is lacking during the time of intimacy,
one or both partner could have a hard time with arousal and or organism The study
targeted heterosexual men where there is an epidemic of erectile dysfunction has
boosted in pornographic use and sexual well-being disorders. If this is the case and

addiction might not be the reason for the ill health. As a result of one promiscuous
lifestyle that could result in sexual difficult that could be cause from various things
such as STD.”Arousal becomes a function of increasingly dehumanizing and sexually
degrading stimuli. Since most of the material cannot be acted out, the viewer must
personalized the content in order to achieve arousal”. (Balswick & Balswick 2008)
Article IX. Porn used as Grounds for Divorce.
Summary of this article basically explain the contrast between “divorce “and
“grounds for divorce” The writes tries to justify the fact that although the sexual act
is bad the act does not necessitate a divorce .Although this article may not have
similar contents as the course work, it is still my stance to communicate that
because pornography is unhealthy ,emotionally, physically and spiritually, a man or
a woman may decide that infidelity was committed therefore the union is broken
between the two. On the other hand, forgiveness and repentance is deemed
necessary regardless if both parties will seek counselor or will separate.
“The warning against adultery sets the marriage bond up as a priority that
must be guarded at all costs. The affirmative aspect of these commandments
encourages married persons at work together toward an emotional and sexual
union that keeps their relationship vital. Each spouse is responsible to God to keep
the marriage covenant”.(Balswick & Balswick 2008)
Having knowledge that pornography is having a negative impact on the marriage,
the therapist must seek to help both parties to discuss the issue and where they will

go from there. The church should also be instrumental in teaching the risk of
pornography in a marriage.
Article X. The Impact of Pornography on children
Children undergo many harmful outcomes of pornography. The negative impacts
can be demonstrated through aggression, acting out, because of it harmful effect on
the emotional and psychological being, porn should not be use as an information
guide to sexuality.
When children learn about sexuality by viewing explicit material, they
show love in away that is not pure. The course work strong teaches that authentic
sexually is the how and what God’s design for his people should be. The comment
make about the effects on children are similar to that of the Balswick writing. “It
could certainly be assumed that the viewing of pornography by children
dramatically increases in correspondence to their sexual awaking around puberty”.
(Balswick & Balswick 2008) The therapist must quickly put a plan in place to
prevent further viewing or engagement with pornographic material. They must be
educated as to the widespread use of internet, whether on line, chat room, social
media etc. and how this can harmful effect on them non on their relationship in the
future.

understanding that God seek that our temples should not be dishonored.
Pornography has no less impact on one’s life than other sexual sin. The church tend
need to take a stance as Christ representation to teach humanity that its is only
through him we can be saved. People look at thing from different perspective but
regardless of language, race, culture, faith, age, sin know no discrimination. Given
that technology is at its peak, it can be used as a witnessing tool to build the
kingdom of God.
The Internet can be very helpful, especially for those who do distance
learning, but Satan uses it as a destructive weapon against those who are not able to
manage the temptation of lust. The needs of the people are overwhelming and it is
God desire that none should perish but have eternal life (John 3:16)
