Case Study
A case study is a methodological approach applied in various life sciences and social
studies. It is mainly applied in policy, law, and business as a research method. It is also applied in
research related to health services (Heale & Twycross, 2018). This approach allows researchers
to have a multi-faceted and in-depth exploration of compound issues, phenomena of interest, or
events in a real-life context. This methodology is similarly applied when researchers want to
learn about a collection of persons, a unit, or an individual to make a general conclusion about
something. This research methodology has long been used in clinical research and practice. It has
provided a detailed critique of one or several patients to provide insight into facets of a clinical
case. This results in an illustration of the broader lesson which may be learned from the aimed
case study. In study, a “case study” and a data collection procedure can describe a detailed
patient care episode exploring professional attitudes and experiences of a novel service
development or policy initiative. Before choosing to use a case study to collect data, researchers
consider key steps used during the experimentation and illustration, which help give an in-depth
comprehension of the issue under focus. Similarly, a case study methodology is used when
writing a dissertation. It helps keep a project manageable and focused when research has limited
resources or time. Those who apply this methodology first select a case to focus on. They then
