Proper formatting for a printed book
The instructions for the proper formatting for a printed book can be found in the APA
Publication Manual on page 320. This is in Chapter 10 enticed “Reference Examples” and
the information can be found in section 10.2. A properly formatted example of the course
research textbook is as follows:
Heading levels and knowing the difference
The reason for using different heading levels in a properly formatted document is to provide
clear, precise, and logical communication. Heading help highlight important information and
gives a good structure. APA heading style have five possible levels. For example, a level one
heading is used for top-level or main sections. Has boldface, uppercase and lowercase. This
information can be found in Chapter two, page 47, in section 2.27 “Heading levels”.
Heading types are numbered, both heading structures follow the same top-down
progression. This shows which heading should be used as each section always starts with the
highest level heading.
DOI Definition and Importance
DOI is a digital object identifier, and the DOI system was developed to identify electronic
content and provide a persistent link to its location on the Internet. Every article is given a
DOI. This information is important to me as a researcher because it is a way to get articles
collected in an easier way. As a researcher you are always trying to get as much information
as possible and with DOI, it is a great way to keep track of all your references.
Jerry Falwell Library Resources
The Jerry Falwell Library provides very helpful resources for students. There are many
different resources that can be used depending on the subject you are looking at researching.
Within each database, there are many different resources for you to access. For example
ebooks, journal articles, and more. Jerry Falwell Library is very helpful, especially being an
online student it is very helpful in getting resources when needed.

Acquisition of Additional Sources
If I needed sources that were not available in the Jerry Falwell Library, I would use the Interlibrary
loan, this allows students to request materials from other libraries. I would also go to a Library and
request the specific material that I need. If I need to find a journal article, I would use “Get it at
Liberty” where I could find the full text.
